Job Summary
Position is responsible for providing professional care to individuals receiving Therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals in the INVIVA network. The nuclear medicine technologist will help to promote patient health by completing health assessments prior to treatment reviewing patient files and collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members as required in the administration of RadioLigand Therapies.

Specific Responsibilities
- Perform Radiopharmacy and Equipment Quality Control Procedures as required.
- Review patient files to understand patients history.
- Obtain informed consent and verify the patients medical history and information.
- Assess the health status of patients using a pretreatment questionnaire that covers contraindications objective and subjective data to determine eligibility in ordering receiving and administering radiopharmaceutical and related therapies.
- Safely prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals as per manufacturer product monograph and INVIVA guidelines.
- Follow cold chain and nuclear regulatory requirements for radiopharmaceuticals as per INVIVA policies and procedures and the manufacturers recommendation.
- As required insertion of peripheral intravenous and maintaining peripheral access according to best practice standards.
- Follow patient specific medical directives for administration and treatment of adverse events.
- Provide monitoring during and post medication administration.
- Follow all INVIVA policies and procedures.
- Report adverse events in accordance with manufacturer specific requirements Health Canada and INVIVA policies and procedures.
- Document patient care services and managing records in accordance with INVIVA policies and procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of medical therapies as per manufacturers Product Monograph.
- Participate in drug and clinic audits upon request.
- Actively participate in training and mentoring of new clinic staff.
- Complete training as required by INVIVA on products and services policies and procedures technology quality assurance and communications.
- Maintain quality safety and infection control standards to ensure safe practice.
- Perform all procedures in accordance with radiation safety practices applicable legislation clinical standards and departmental policies and procedures to ensure personnel and patient safety.
- Troubleshoot equipment and/or procedure issues and contact appropriate service providers.
- Participate in education and training specific to current relevant federal and provincial health and safety legislation standards and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as required.

Formal Education / Requirements / Key competencies
- Minimum of a three 3 year Advanced Diploma in Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging from an accredited college or equivalent.
- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) is required.
- Current Certificate of Registration with Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is preferred.
- Current Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) training certificate is preferred.
- Ministry of Labor Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps training certificate is required.
- Minimum of five 5 years of experience in a Nuclear Medicine department within a health care environment.
- Experience administering therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals.
Requirements
- Strong intravenous initiation skills
- CPR certification
- Ability to work autonomously and proficiently especially in emergency situations.
- Ability to work in a computerized environment (i.e. computer MS Office Teams WEBEX email and electronic patient records)
- Maintain yearly practice membership with provincial College.
- Maintain yearly professional liability insurance.
- Ability to work at various locations depending on region if applicable
