Job Description Summary

Join a team driving the future of energy transformation!

We are seeking a highly motivated and handson Site Supervisor with expertise in Power Transformers installation and commissioning. In this role you will act as the key link between the factory site operators and customers ensuring seamless transformer installation and commissioning while maintaining the highest standards of safety quality and compliance.

This role is not a fulltime onsite positionexpect a 60 travel requirement with the remaining time spent in a hybrid work setup (office/home) as agreed with management.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Coordination & Supervision: Lead the technical portion of power transformer installation and commissioning ensuring site activities follow engineering standards compliance regulations and customer expectations.
  • Technical Guidance & Support: Act as the key interface between factory engineers regional site supervisors and customers to troubleshoot issues provide technical support and resolve nonconformities.
  • Regional Supervisor Qualification: Work on the qualification process for regional site supervisors ensuring they are trained to company and industry standards.
  • ProblemSolving & DecisionMaking: Independently assess and resolve technical challenges onsite without relying solely on factory support.
  • Site Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and issue Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS) NonConformance Reports (NCRs) and Technical Queries (TQs) ensuring full documentation of site activities.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Management: Lead discussions with customers project managers and engineering teams to coordinate transformer installations handle site incidents and ensure customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).
  • Proven experience in power transformer installation commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • Strong handson electrical expertise (rather than electronics).
  • Ability to work independently on problemsolving and technical decisionmaking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in writing reports and technical documentation.
  • Solid understanding of EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) regulations and the ability to enforce safety compliance under pressure.
  • Availability to travel 60 based on project needs.

Preferred Skills & Attributes:

  • Experience with coordinating and training site teams.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and compliance regulations.
  • Familiarity with power transformer testing and commissioning procedures.
  • Strong leadership skillsnot just a messenger but a proactive problem solver.

Lichfield Road manufacturing facility has been originally established in 1903 and has been standing since 1960 as a part of English Electric group delivering power transformers that later merged GEC Alsthom and later became ALSTOM and has been acquired by GE in 2015. Stafford is ideally suited for research and advanced manufacturing with our highly skilled staff and position at the heart of the UKs transport network. The transformer facility has been renowned all over the world with its expertise in design manufacturing and delivery of HVAC and HVDC transformers worldwide up to 800kV.
