You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailUnder the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Nurse Manager the Patient Care Technician will provide specific direct care activities and related support functions. May record vital signs may perform phlebotomy may prepare patient for examination may assist provider during exam. Obtains specimens may act as interpreter for patients and family.
1:
Accurately performs and records vital signs including blood pressure
Obtains records of patient weight by utilizing standing bed chair and infant scales
applies fetal monitoring
performs Phlebotomy including finger sticks
Performs hearing and vision testing performs blood glucose testing using glucometer
Instructs patients and obtains specimens including sputum urine and stool
Measures and records input and output
Assists patients in use of assisted devices that include walkers canes and crutches
Transports patients slips specimens and materials to and from areas
Performs routine maintenance of equipment such as EKG monitor scales traction etc.
Reports changes in patients conditions to the Registered Nurse
Prepares patients for examination and assists provider during exam.

Prepares and maintains work area with supplies assists in taking inventory of supplies
Provides for patients personal needshygiene toileting feeding and bed making
Gives simple enemas performs routine ostomy care
Assista patient in sue of incentive spirometer
Assists patients with deep breathing and coughing exercises
Peforms oral suctioning
Sets up oxygen
3:
Observes and cares for patients diagnosed as suicidal homicidal or otherwise disruptive and difficult to manage.
Applies restraints safely
Assists with safely placing and monitoring patients in seclusion
Applies simple unsterile dressings
Assists in the psychological recreational motivational social occupational and physical/rehabilitative activities.
4:
Complies with patient right standards and confidentiality standards
Adheres to infection control standards
Arrives on duty on time and departs at scheduled times
Communicates effectively with patients.
5:
Maintains a safe working environment Attends all mandatory inservices and other educational programs appropriate to the area/unit.
23 years acute/chronic healthcare environment or related ambulatory care experience required
Must have demonstrated experience in patient care.
Completed Patient Care Technician Course (Policy Requirement)
High school or GED (Required)
Some college (Preferred)
Basic Computer Knowledge (Required)
