Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a Commis Chef for a prestigious luxury fine dining restaurant located in the Northern Cape. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a passionate and dedicated culinary team delivering highquality creative cuisine in a worldclass environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daytoday operations of the assigned kitchen section
Maintain cleanliness stock control and organization within the section
Inform senior chefs of ordering requirements and stock needs
Support team members to ensure guest satisfaction and kitchen success
Adhere to hygiene regulations and correct use of kitchen chemicals
Maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness as directed by Sous Chefs
Follow all standard operating procedures and recipes
Ensure all food is correctly labeled and dated
Keep bulk prep up to date
Cost and follow recipes accurately
Requirements:
Working knowledge of health and safety (HACCP) protocols
Experience with kitchen equipment and food production in bulk
Ability to interact with guests and enhance their culinary experience
Understanding of menu creation and meal planning
Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
Good physical and mental health
Awareness of legislative and safety requirements in the kitchen
Solid grasp of current food trends
Knowledge of dietary and religious food requirements
Experience in implementing and maintaining SOPs
Familiarity with stock control and related procedures
