Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join a renowned luxury fine dining restaurant located in the Northern Cape. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your culinary career within a dynamic and professional kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the kitchen leadership in training mentoring and developing the team
Assist in streamlining and systemizing kitchen operations including stock control food preparation timely service hygiene and budget management
Uphold and exceed established food hygiene and quality standards
Contribute to the management and of kitchen operations in line with property directives
Participate in maintaining effective kitchen administration minimizing shortages and wastage
Take responsibility for any variances losses or inefficiencies
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure consistency and excellence in food presentation
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and kitchen compliance in line with regulations
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of Chef de Partie experience in a 5star kitchen environment
Proven experience working under pressure in a highvolume fastpaced kitchen
Strong multitasking ability and efficiency
Keen eye for detail with exceptional food presentation skills
Awareness of modern culinary trends and innovations
Understanding of dietary and religious food requirements
Knowledge of SOP creation implementation and maintenance
Strong understanding of stock control planning budgeting and admin processes
General Attributes:
Willingness to work designated hours and kitchen sections as directed
Active participation in training and continuous improvement
Ability to take initiative and foster a positive team environment
Collaborative team member committed to achieving culinary excellence

Commitment to personal and professional growth in collaboration with the Executive Chef
Compliance with all workplace legal requirements including health safety hygiene and fire regulations
Willingness to attend kitchen briefings meetings and crossdepartment support when required
Ability to assist in the implementation of new kitchen policies and procedures
Availability to serve on internal committees as required
Active participation in the Long Run s 4C initiatives and GER standards
