Job Description
On behalf of a construction firm in west Dublin we are looking to hire a Senior Commercial Accountant.
Our client is a market leader in innovative technologies and is expanding their finance team with this new hire. The successful candidate will work alongside the Head of Finance across multiple construction projects;
Responsibilities:
Project Budget Management:
- Collaborate with the Commercial and Accounts teams to establish project budgets upload them to the ERP system and track financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Monitor ongoing project performance reporting any variances against the approved budget and providing regular updates to key stakeholders.
Cost Reconciliation:
- Work closely with Quantity Surveyors to reconcile Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports with original project budgets ensuring accuracy and consistency across financial and commercial reporting.
Profitability Tracking:
- Continuously review project budgets with the QS team to ensure CVR reporting aligns with expected contract profitability and financial recognition.
Requirements:
- ACA/ ACCA qualified Accountant with 35 years PQE.
- Construction industry experience (or similar) highly desirable.
- Commercial finance (budgeting forecasting modeling) experience highly desirable but our client will also consider (Senior) Accountants looking to move into a move commercial role.
- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with internal & external stakeholders.
