We are seeking a qualified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) to join our team. This position requires a dedicated fulltime individual to ensure the safety and health of our workforce in compliance with EM 38511 and other federal state and local regulations. The SHO will oversee risk assessments incident investigations safety training emergency response planning inspections and regulatory compliance. They will help develop and provide oversight of Site Safety Health Officers (SSHO) who must be onsite during all work activities as warranted and will collaborate with project managers contractors and regulatory authorities to maintain a safe work environment.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure all safety and health policies align with federal state and local regulations including EM 38511 requirements.
- Maintain the role of Safety and Health Officer (SHO) as a fulltime position with no conflicting responsibilities.
- Ensure that SSHO is onsite whenever work is being performed. In the absence of the SSHO for more than 24 hours an Alternate SSHO with equivalent qualifications must be present.
- Report directly to senior project or corporate officials ensuring SSHO authority over safety operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of job sites equipment and materials to identify and address hazards.
- Ensure workers receive safety indoctrination and facilitate ongoing safety meetings and training including weekly meetings for workers and monthly meetings for supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with EM 38511 requirements such as Accident Prevention Plans (APP) Action Hazard Analyses (AHA) and safety toolbox talks.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analysis to identify workplace safety hazards.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate and manage risks in compliance with EM 38511 and industry best practices.
- Ensure SSHO is properly trained 40hour initial course and 8hour annual refresher) and present onsite at all times when work is being performed.
- Lead investigations into accidents nearmisses and safety incidents identifying root causes and developing action plans to prevent reoccurrence.
- Ensure all incidents are documented and corrective actions are implemented.
- Work with project teams to develop and enforce Accident Prevention Plans for each contract.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and contractors ensuring compliance with EM 38511 standards and safety best practices.
- Ensure all personnel complete initial safety indoctrination and ongoing training.
- Maintain training records and ensure that workers have access to relevant safety documentation such as AHAs and emergency response procedures.
- Oversee the development maintenance and of sitespecific emergency response plans including evacuation procedures firstaid training and emergency equipment accessibility.
- Conduct regular emergency drills to ensure readiness for medical emergencies fires electrical incidents and hazardous materials releases.
- Ensure clear communication channels are in place for reporting incidents and emergencies.
- Conduct frequent inspections of work sites to identify hazards and ensure compliance with EM 38511 standards.
- Implement corrective actions for safety violations and ensure continued safety awareness through regular safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Inspect office facilities to identify and help resolve potential hazards.
- Maintain detailed records of safety activities including safety meetings inspections incident reports and training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with documentation requirements for safety audits risk assessments and accident investigations.
- Keep records of PPE usage safety training sessions and safety equipment inspections.
- Promote a culture of safety throughout the organization by collaborating with management and employees to reinforce safety awareness commitment and accountability.
- Ensure all workers are trained to identify and mitigate potential hazards and that they are aware of the importance of safety onsite.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure they adhere to the companys safety standards while onsite.
- Ensure that contractors have completed necessary safety training and are familiar with job site hazards and emergency procedures.
- Prepare and submit all required safety and health reports to regulatory authorities in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations including reporting requirements for job site inspections and safety performance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of the role and as needed to support safety management on the project.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety Health & Safety Management or a related field. Relevant certifications (CSP CIH CHMM) are a plus.
- Security Clearances: This position may require a security clearance. The clearance requirements will be determined by the agency(s) in which you are assigned. Convergint Federal will sponsor the level of clearance required; however it is your responsibility to obtain and maintain the necessary clearance.
- Minimum of five years of construction industry safety experience or three years with a CSP or safety and health degree.
- Completion of the 40hour EM 38511 training course and an 8hour refresher course annually.
- Completion of a 30hour OSHA Construction Safety class or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds with accommodations available upon request.
- Fulltime onsite presence during all work operations.
- Proven experience in developing implementing and enforcing safety programs.
- Indepth knowledge of federal state and local safety regulations including EM 38511.
- Strong analytical problemsolving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary Range: $120K$135K
Travel: The position will be remote with up to 50 travel nationally and internationally.
