Hydro-Mechanical Engineer - Water

AECOM is looking to employ an Engineer Hydromechanical

Technical Excellence

• Mechanical equipment in water conveyance systems gates control valves; screens hoists etc. experience critical
• Experience in the design of bulk fluid conveyance systems: bulk pipelines valve chambers surge mitigation; network distribution systems pump stations; water treatment plants etc.
• Should understand standard fluid conveyance components how they work what their limitations are and how to use them within a design
• Experience with interdiscipline coordination electrical; instrumental; civil structural etc. Must be able to have meaningful discussions on a technical level on these disciplines and defer to discipline leads to make final decisions
• Constructability and Safety in Design must be in mind during the design process.
• Must be able to have robust discussions with stakeholders get complex ideas across discuss critical items with other specialists and manage other personalities conflicts etc while still guiding the discussion to a meaningful result a solution for the technical problem.
• Must be solutiondriven; have a positive outlook; and be able to weather the clients abuse even when not guilty.
• Must have the ability to understand drawings3D design and do CAD reviews calculations and be general fluid conveyance excellence track record

Qualifications :

Qualifications:

• BEng Degree (Mech) from a recognised university
• M Degree (preferably in Mechanical Engineering or related field)
• Registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in hydromechanical engineering or related field
• Demonstrated experience with hydraulic systems and fluid dynamics
• Indepth knowledge of water treatment processes and technologies
• Proficiency in CAD software and 3D modelling
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with project management and stakeholder engagement
• Thorough knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
• Experience with interdiscipline coordination (electrical instrumental civil structural etc.
• Understanding of constructability and Safety in Design principles
