Job Description

Barstow Unified Union School District is accepting applications for a part time 4.4 hours per day 22 hours per week) year round custodian to begin immediately. Starting rate of pay is $19.18 with potential for increase based on like FUNCTIONS:Routine manual work involving custodial and housekeeping care of school buildings and grounds;Maintains janitorial and housekeeping supplies and ensures reordering through supervisor when needed;Maintains custodial storage areas in a clean and orderly fashion;Notifies and assists supervisor when repairs are needed. ;May perform grounds keeping snow and ice removal and recycling;Monitors cafeteria & gymnasium cleanliness with mopping and sweeping as necessary;Secures building according to plan devised with building administrator;Responsible for cleaning and disinfecting drinking fountains;Responsible for buffing dust mopping wet mopping and vacuuming of floors;Responsible for dusting window sills shelves counters and board rails as specified at the local level;Removal of graffiti as needed;Annually assists in stripping & waxing of floors and steam cleaning carpets;Per work request sets up and breaks down for meetings dances activities and athletic events etc;Work areas and/or tasks will be assigned by the Head custodian in a manner which best serves the needs of the school;Other duties may be assigned by the Building Principal and/or Head Custodian as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a High School Diploma GED or equivalent preferred with demonstrated custodial experienceInterested candidates should apply on to:Rich Vigue Supervisor of Facilities & Transportation
