Job Description

Georgia Middle School is seeking a dynamic middle level social studies teacher to join our 7th & 8th grade team. This individual will have strong social studies content knowledge that allows them to guide students towards proficiency through highquality instructional practices. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Common Core standards and C3 standards and be able to integrate them in creative and effective ways to meet the diverse needs of students. Candidates must have the ability to build positive and supportive relationships with students while establishing a classroom environment with clear routines and expectations. Responsibilities:*Ensure equitable and inclusive educational opportunities for all students.*Be willing to collaborate learn and grow within a team. *Build strong collaborative relationships with students colleagues and parents. *Effectively communicate with a variety of constituents including students faculty administrators parents and the broader school community.*Utilize PBIS and Responsive Classroom practices to foster a sense of belonging.*Demonstrate a strong understanding of proficiencybased learning and the ability to plan units of study that are rigorous and relevant for early adolescence.*Utilize the Schoology online platform to post and communicate about student assignments. *Reflect upon their practice and data to continue to grow professionally.*Demonstrate knowledge of Vermont transferable skills and content standards with an ability to create and adapt curriculum materials for a variety of learners.
