Qualifications
Under the direction of the Director Platform Technology and the Principal Platform Integration Engineer this team member will support the direct and delivery of all technical aspects of Mayo Clinic Platforms technology roadmap. The Senior Platform Engineer will also serve as a technical liaison with other functions within the enterprise.
The position will be responsible for the following essential functions:
- Applies the principles of wellarchitected frameworks to the design and deployment of key foundational functions within Mayo Clinic Platform.
- Design develop and maintain healthcare interoperability solutions that enable the secure and efficient exchange of healthcare data between systems and applications.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical specifications and architectural designs.
- Implement robust and scalable backend solutions using Java and/or .NET ensuring data integrity security and compliance with healthcare standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
- Develop and maintain frontend applications using React to provide userfriendly interfaces for healthcare professionals and patients.
- Integrate thirdparty healthcare systems APIs and data sources into our platform ensuring seamless interoperability.
- Work closely with cloud architects to deploy and manage healthcare solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Implement and maintain DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment and ensure high availability and performance of healthcare applications.
- Collaborate with data engineers to manage and analyze healthcare data extracting valuable insights to drive healthcare decisionmaking.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in healthcare interoperability Java .NET React and GCP.
- Works closely with the product and solutions team to understand opportunities and assist with the integration to the platform as well as develop repeatable mechanisms such that singleuse integrations are minimized.
- Partners with the solutions and implementation/support team to design develop and deploy management and support tooling for all aspects of the platforms operations. This may include things like monitoring/surveillance tools access and utilization logging.
- Assists in the development and may oversee the Mayo Clinic Platform Technology teams compliance with SLAs or OLAs in partnership with the implementation/services team.
- Supports and advises the of the Mayo Clinic Platform Technical roadmap.
- Acts as a mentor and coach for other technical team members within Mayo Clinic Platform supporting technical growth and systems based thinking.
- In collaboration with the Mayo Clinic Platform product team defines and implements proper Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes in sync with Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) processes.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a relevant information technology field or a minimum 7 years of direct fullstack engineering with increasing complexity.
- 35 years working in diverse environments utilizing Agile principles of software development.
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Engineer with a strong emphasis on healthcare interoperability.
- Proficiency in Java and/or .NET for backend development including API / service design and implementation.
- Expertise in Javascript with a focus on React and react frameworks (e.g. NextJS) for building responsive and intuitive frontend applications.
- Handson experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (or equivalent) services and cloudnative application development.
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 FHIR and OMOP.
- Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative crossfunctional team environment.
- Experience with DevOps practices CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Knowledge of healthcare data security and compliance requirements including HIPAA is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
- A proactive and selfdriven mindset with a passion for staying uptodate with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Experience with Interoperability standards such as HL7 FHIR and OMOP.
- Experience with solutions integration/delivery in a healthcare setting.
