Amazons Supply Chain Managers play a central role in our global business. They keep our complex international supply chains working seamlessly and efficiently. As a Supply Chain Manager you will work closely with multiple stakeholders across Amazon from Operational teams who are fulfilling customer orders to Program teams and everything in between. Youll help us optimise our supply chains to make our customer experience even better and our business more energy and cost efficient.
Key job responsibilities
Define supply chain and operating models for business
Analyse and interpret data to improve efficiency across supply chains and multiple operations
Partner with teams to advise on and manage operational challenges
Support the planning and organisation of complex projects
Create short and longterm innovative solutions using data and research to address wider challenges in your organisation.
Enhance operational performance and influence change needed from Stakeholder teams.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert supporting teams and contribuiting to reliable and trustful partnership with internal Stakeholders.
Analysing complex data to explain KPIs performance and identify opportunities to achieve higher targets.
Communicate findings and proposals in a clear and compelling way verbally and in written.
A day in the life
Being a Supply Chain Managers for Amazon involves lots of problem solving. Youll work with a number of teams to navigate challenges as and when situations impact our network. Youll spend time resolving temporary issues and looking at the bigger picture to drive Amazon towards achieving new objectives.
As a Supply Chain Managers youll need to help with both ontheground tasks and more tactical work. No two days will be the same. You could spend one day helping to define our supply chain and operating models and the next assisting with a sites resource plan for a busy period. Having so much variety in your role means youll be able to learn something new every day.
A degree
Experience in complex problem solving and working in a tight schedule environment
Experience leading process improvements
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience working cross functionally with tech and nontech teams
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level including: pivot tables macros index/match vlookup VBA data links etc.
Knowledge of SQL at an intermediate level including: compile queries subqueries aggregation/grouping data modification etc.
MBA in supply chain management operations engineering analytics or related field
Relevant experience in a supply chain logistics ecommerce or transportation planning role
