Job Description
Under the direction and supervision of the Technician Manager the Pilot Plant Technician is responsible for the daytoday of pilot plant activities below. In addition to the following employees are responsible for understanding the relevance and importance of the individuals activities in contributing to food safety and reporting situations that may impact food.
Statement of the Job:
Be able to perform duties of pilot plant operations in a way that is consistent with pilot plant and plant policy and standards. The employee must have the following qualifications:
Partner with developers other pilot plant technicians and maintenance personnel on critical work needs.
Support pilot plant project work from ideation to completion.
Assist with pilot plant production runs sanitation and food safety and quality swabbing requirements.
Complete required training on production equipment processes sanitation and food safety and quality requirements.
Input maintenance and facility work orders.
Knowledge of food processing equipment and understanding of operation and safety protocols.
Support projects with internal team and thirdparty contractors.
Ability to complete computer work and utilize specific production systems and purchase order systems.
Ability to inspect equipment and products for cleanliness foreign material etc.
Ability to work across multiple pilot plant production areas.
Responsibilities:
The employee is responsible for the following duties:
Perform the duties of general pilot plant operations consistent with planned policies and standards with respect to product quality GMPs and safety.
Responsible for supporting the upkeep and safe operation of all necessary pilot plant equipment.
Responsible for reporting trouble calls and supporting equipment review.
Other duties as assigned by the technician manager which may include assignments to other departments or areas of the pilot plant or Morton Grove plant for indefinite periods of time.
Responsible for communicating project status to department and crossfunctional employees.
Responsible for time management and project deadlines.
Responsible for balancing multiple project priorities and accommodating requests or changes in schedule.
Safety Responsibility:
Responsible for wearing proper PPE compliance of safety training policy & procedures and reporting any unsafe safety conditions to management. Responsible for safely operating production equipment and tools required for production.
Quality Responsibility:
Participate in the KHMS audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions.
Equipment Operated:
Fork trucks power tools lift assist equipment production operating equipment and tools across pilot plants and production computer systems.
Responsibility of Equipment Operated:
Responsible for ensuring equipment is in a safe and operable condition and must operate equipment in a safe manner.
Lifting Requirements
Lifting of up to 550 pounds may be required. Employees should use assisted lifting techniques / devices or teamwork for equipment greater than 50 pounds.
Training And Experience:
Employees will be trained in this position. The employee must have the experience required in the qualifications above.
5 years in the field preferred
Must at least have a HS diploma or GED associates / trades certifications preferred
Computer Skills
Must have the ability to learn additional EAM and purchase order system requirements as system progresses or applications change.
Ability to use spreadsheets databases (e.g. Microsoft Excel etc. and analytical tools

New Hire Base Salary Range:
$61000.00 $76200.00Bonus: This position is eligible for a performancebased bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
