Job Description

Position Title: Assistant AdministratorClassification: Exempt Position Type: Fulltime 210day position)Salary Schedule: Individual Agreement Introductory Period: 90 daysReports To: Executive DirectorSummary/Objective:The program administrator serves as the school and educational leader responsible for development implementation supervision and evaluation of a comprehensive program of educational and student services. Is responsible for administering the program in accordance with policies statutory requirements and consistent with collective bargaining agreements. Serves as an advocate for the staff school and school community as Functions/Duties:Participates and maintains an effective and culturally diverse learning environment among the entire school community (faculty staff support personnel students etc. which should entail the supervision and evaluation mentoring of staff and overall monitoring of individual pedagogy and curriculum within established parameters designed to meet the student needs; to influence continuous improvement for all students based upon the state Common Core a creative and innovative learning environment in which all students are inspired to standards and expectations for proper student conduct; supports the appropriate methods to encourage discipline and commitment to adhere to established guides; maintains high expectations and motivation for all students to engage in continuous learning and facilitates designs and implements programs and scheduling to meet student needs with all stakeholders involved (e.g. IEP and progress meetings referral process family meetings emergency meetings etc.)Maintains a clear and open communication process with all the internal and external school community the school population informed of policy changes new programs opportunities as a liaison between the school and the local community encouraging the community to participate in the educational process as part of the overall school life. Develops a program of public relations to further the communities understanding and support of educational with the various members of administration to solve school problems such as transportation student services operations and budget state regulatory requirements clear expectations and support for staff providing ongoing feedback evaluations advice counseling and support to all staff members regarding their individual and group for the physical intellectual and emotional safety in order for effective teaching and learning to take updated on changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings reading professional journals and other publications and discussing contemporary issues with colleagues and maintains commitment to educational and supervises support services such as maintenance security food services recreational programs library activities and financial/budgeting and accounting functions special events held to recognize student achievement attends school sponsored activities and as a member of the Executive Directors Administrative program staff and maintain time/attendance DESE program approval process through the design and maintenance of policies and procedures program description and upholding state requirements. Ensure Compliance with all relevant Department of Education duties as assigned by the Executive of Accessibility: Level ThreeCompetency: Knowledge Skills and Abilities:Excellent organizational and communication experience with students with significant Intellectual with IEP development and with Massachusetts Educator Evaluation policies and years supervisory/administrative experience in an educational working with implementing MA Common Core Curriculum Frameworks/MCAS/WIDA and submitting team building Responsibilities:Ensure Compliance with all relevant Department of Education Regulations as it relates to the supervision and evaluation of all licensed and certified staff under DESE (e.g. certified teachers SLP and school Environment and Physical Demands:The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Attendance at a variety of work sites is required. Staff must be able to sit stand lift 50 lbs. with assistance if necessary ambulate short segments of running and other physical requirements as identified. Travel:This position requires frequent travel.
