JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Job Title: Wellbeing Attendant
Location: Campus Recreation IM Building
Direct Report: Coordinator for Fitness and Wellbeing Personal Training
Starting Rate: $12.50/hour
Description: Campus Recreation is committed to fostering health and wellbeing within our community. Our wellbeing room provides a peaceful environment for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Within the department of Campus Recreation the Wellbeing Attendant will help maintain the cleanliness and ambiance of the wellbeing room assist patrons and support wellbeing activities. This individual must be able to uphold Campus Recreation policies and procedures support the operations of the wellbeing room and assist with Campus Recreation Wellbeing programing and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Assist in providing exceptional customer services to patrons.
Responsible for scheduling and assisting patrons with making reservations in Fusion software
Greet and check for proper identification of all guests via Fusion facility management software.
Educate patrons on wellbeing initiatives and Penn State Flourish model.
Keep the wellbeing facility clean and organized including lounge area massage chairs and mindbody spaces.
Encourage positive group development by engaging with participants and promoting a culture of respect and trust.
Responsible for upholding the risk management plan for student staff which is designed to prevent injuries as well as prepare students to respond appropriately to accidents injuries and lifethreatening emergencies.
Ensure wellbeing room is safe secure and operational
Responsible for opening and closing procedures of wellbeing room.
Routine and/or special cleaning of equipment within wellbeing room.
Ability to troubleshoot employee requests or problems with equipment and wellbeing room.
Assist Wellbeing Manager with staffing concerns.
Complete other responsibilities as assigned by Wellness Manager or Fitness & Wellbeing Professional Staff.
Personal/Professional Development and Responsibilities
Attend all certifications or training(s) regarding technology within the wellbeing room.
Attend certification training(s) for wellbeing including Mental Health First Aid. Complete Wellbeing Flourish Trainings.
Be receptive to professional and personal development
Balance time commitments.
Give and receive feedback.
Recognize limitations and work to improve in a timely manner.
Function as a contributing member of the Campus Recreation team.
Expectations:
Act as an extension of professional staff.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Campus Recreation and wellbeing.
Wellbeing Attendant Attire:
o Always appear neat clean and dressed professionally for role.
o Blue jeans without holes dress slacks shorts or capris.
o Tops must be professional uniform.
o No hats or cutoff shorts.
o Nametag above the waist and on the left side.
Requirements:
Strong problemsolving skills and ability to be proactive in decisionmaking.
Ability to positively interact with student staff and patrons.
Ability to work independently.
Complete all required Penn State LRN training(s).
Work a minimum of 10 hours per week. Average of three hours/week for department focused work.
Attendance/Availability must keep accurate and uptodate availability in WhenToWork.
Accommodate a variable work schedule that may include early mornings late evenings and/or weekends.
Successfully complete American Red Cross or equivalent Adult CPR/First Aid after hire.
