The Maclay School a K12 coeducational independent school in Tallahassee FL is seeking an experienced candidate for the position of Head Athletic Trainer. Reporting to the director of athletics this is a full time 12month position to begin Be present at and provide athletic training services at all practices games occurring on campus this includes some offseason training and summer workouts. Some travel to select away events as determined by the Athletic Director is also required. Oversee the prevention assessment treatment and rehabilitation of student athletes. Maintain accurate records of injuries treatments rehabs physicals and rosters of athletes. Work in conjunction with the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator to administer rehabilitation and return to play protocols. Communicate with coaches regarding athletes who are under the supervision of the athletic trainer or those who are medically cleared to compete. Partners with the Athletic Department in developing onfield protocol such as (but not limited to) emergency action plans (EAPs) severe weather plans concussion protocol etc. The Director of Athletics with support from the Head Athletic Trainer will make all final decisions on the safety of our facilities/athletes related to these protocols and make determinations on adjustments or cancellations of athletic events. Ability to examine processes policies and problems and offer solutions. Verifies reviews and organizes student physicals FHSAA athletic clearance profiles health records and release forms in conjunction with school health personnel. Maintain an effective and efficient athletic training room. Ability to work nights and weekends flexibility for some morning hours. Openness to conduct athletic training/sports medicine workshops or teach a course a plus. Additional duties as assigned by the Director of AthleticsQualifications: Current BOC certification and eligible for licensure in Florida (to be obtained prior to start date) A masters degree from an accredited professional athletic training education program preferred. Demonstrated competency in applying the principles methods materials and equipment used in athletic training. Practical athletic training experience at the high school collegiate or professional level. Great interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with coaches athletes school nurses parents and others as needed.
