At AmeriVet were dedicated to supporting veterinary practices through datadriven innovation and technology. Were growing our Data & Analytics team and looking for a talented Lead Data Engineer to help shape the future of our data infrastructure and lead impactful projects across the organization.
Position Summary:
The Lead Data Engineer will play a key role in designing developing and maintaining data pipelines and analytics platforms while mentoring a small team of engineers. This role requires strong technical expertise in Python SQL Microsoft Fabric and Power BI along with a growing foundation in AI/ML concepts.
Key Responsibilities:
Design build and optimize scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric Pipelines
Develop and maintain robust data solutions using Python and SQL
Lead the development of data models and dashboards in Power BI
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers
Contribute to the integration of AI/ML solutions into existing data workflows
Ensure data quality consistency and security across all platforms
Work crossfunctionally with IT operations and business teams to drive data initiatives
Qualifications:
4 years of experience with Python for data engineering
4 years of experience with SQL and relational databases
3 years of experience with Microsoft Azure Pipelines
3 years working with Power BI including DAX and data visualization best practices
1 year of exposure to AI/ML concepts or projects
Proven experience leading or mentoring a data engineering team
Strong problemsolving and communication skills
Experience in the veterinary healthcare or multisite industries is a plus
