JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State Psychological Clinic is seeking a fulltime Staff Psychologist to provide various clinical services in a dynamic training and community mental health environment as part of Penn States toprated clinical psychology doctoral training program. Full Penn State benefits are included.
The clinic is among the largest associated with a doctoral training program in the United States and serves a dual purpose as the training and research site for the Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology and a large community mental health center.
The Psychological Clinic located on Penn States University Park Campus provides psychological and psychiatric outpatient treatment and psychological and neuropsychological assessment for adults families adolescents and children as well as school and communitybased intervention programs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide individual and group psychotherapy to various clinical populations including clients who meet the states definition of having a serious and persistent mental illness in both short and longterm treatment formats
Provide initial consultation and comprehensive diagnostic psychological and/or neuropsychological assessment for clients with a wide range of mental health behavioral emotional and developmental concerns
As necessary collaborate with psychiatric and health care providers and provide consultation regarding complex crises and mental health concerns to various key stakeholders
If interested provide behavioral health clinical services and/or case management at offsite local locations (e.g. primary care facilities group homes jails schools)
Complete all required documentation in a timely and compliant manner
The Staff Psychologist will also provide clinical resident instruction for the Psychology Training Program and Psychological Clinic. This will involve the following key responsibilities:
Clinical supervision including of graduate students and practicum instruction
Administering scoring and interpreting psychological and neuropsychological assessment instruments
May become involved in teaching research scholarly publications and presentations and training activities
The Staff Psychologist is expected to perform all services according to relevant ethical and professional standards of care using evidencebased treatment approaches.

Education and Experience: This position will be filled as a Psychologist Advanced Professional which requires a minimum of a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and three years of relevant experience.
Applicants must have completed an APAaccredited predoctoral internship in professional psychology and be licensed or licenseeligible as a psychologist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Applicants who are in the final stages of completing the above requirements and will do so by the date of hire will also be considered.
Experience with conducting assessments and providing evidencebased treatment is required; experience with any of the following is preferred: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Parent Management Training (PMT) TransferenceFocused Psychotherapy (TFP) ParentChild Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
