This Position
Responsible for processing filings in civil appeals small claims postconviction relief and habeas corpus cases and may process other case types such as criminal CINA delinquency and probate. You will be responsible for reviewing motions proposed judgments or findings and stipulations for proper use of forms and technical compliance with applicable rules and statutes and ensure motions are accompanied by all necessary supporting documents.
This role requires you provide exemplary customer service to court patrons within the standards of the Alaska Court System. You will assist customers (pro se litigants attorneys and other agencies) at the public service counter and by phone providing information on court cases forms procedures and records without giving legal advice.
Additionally you will maintain and modify entries in CourtView motion tracking program process requests for default and default judgments process marriage licenses and marriage commissioner applications generate daily computer reports and work them in accordance with established procedures answer technical and procedural questions from clerks administrative assistants judicial officers and assist other desks in department as needed.

The Fairbanks Trial Court is located in the beautiful Rabinowitz Courthouse at 101 Lacey Street in Downtown Fairbanks. Our building is located next to Golden Heart Plaza the Alaska Siberia World War II Memorial several bike paths and the Chena River. The Work Hours Flexible Scheduling Options
This position will work 20 hours per week. The actual schedule will be determined between the hiring manager and the successful applicant.

Benefits
This position participates in the Supplemental Benefits System (SBS) Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) accrues personal leave and receives up to 12 paid holidays. This position offers optional coverage for health insurance benefits. The employee will be responsible for paying onehalf of the premium for the coverage elected.
Personal leave accrual is based on years of creditable state service.

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).
OR
Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND completion of a twoyear paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).
OR
A bachelors degree from an accredited college AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).

WORK HISTORY
If using work experience not already documented in your application provide the employers name your job title dates of employment and whether full or parttime. Applications will be reviewed to determine if the responses are supported and Minimum Qualifications are clearly met. If they are not the applicant will not advance to the interview and selection phase of the recruitment.
EDUCATION
If postsecondary education is required to meet the Minimum Qualifications you must fill in the Education and Training section of the application. SELECTION PROCEDURE
Applicants will be required to meet the Minimum Qualifications as outlined above. Unfortunately we cannot always interview all applicants.
