Ensures that the models used for regulatory requirements produce the appropriate results. Assist in developing robust experience studies.

  • Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives.
  • Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
  • Assists in the development of strategic plans.
  • Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decisionmaking.
  • Helps determine business priorities and best sequence for of business/group strategy.
  • Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
  • Breaks down strategic problems and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Provides input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.
  • Focuses on more complex product insurance products (e.g. Universal Life).
  • Leads/participates in the design implementation and management of core business/group processes.
  • Identifies business needs designs/develops tools and training programs; may include delivery of training to audiences.
  • Assists with the calculations required for the opinion on the various Appointed Actuary legal responsibilities..
  • Reviews and analyzes actuarial issues for presentation to the Appointed Actuary for signoff. Includes review of new product initiatives and additional actuarial support for other areas.
  • Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader enterprisewide focus.
  • Provides specialized consulting analytical and technical support.
  • Exercises judgment to identify diagnose and solve problems within given rules.
  • Works independently and regularly handles nonroutine situations.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically between 5 7 years of relevant experience and postsecondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • FSA/FCIA designation or near completion.
  • Indepth understanding of Corporate Reporting Process (Valuation Projections) and/or pricing analysis methodology & reporting.
  • Indepth product knowledge of Traditional Term and Universal Life products.
  • Strong knowledge of AXIS and other data analytics software.
  • Verbal & written communication skills Indepth.
  • Collaboration & team skills Indepth.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills Indepth.
  • Influence skills Indepth.
  • Data driven decision making Indepth.

Salary:

$74800.00 $138600.00

Pay Type:

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Groups pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location skills experience education and qualifications for the role and may include a commission structure. Salaries for parttime roles will be prorated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Groups expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Groups total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performancebased incentives discretionary bonuses as well as other perks and rewards.
