Job Description

• Exhibit accurate knowledge of content and pedagogy.
• Exhibit knowledge of students individual development and special needs.

• Select and use appropriate resources.
• Adhere to each students Individualized Education Program (IEP) and 504 plan.
• Build and design coherent lessons activities and assessments of rigor that match standards of learning.
• Create an environment of respect and rapport.
• Establish a positive culture for learning.
• Exhibit effective classroom procedures with little loss of instruction.
• Effectively supervise students and manage student behavior.
• Effectively communicate with students.
• Confer with parents or guardians other teachers counselors and administrators to resolve students behavioral and academic problems.
• Exhibit high expectations and effective delivery of lessons.
• Demonstrate effective questioning and discussion techniques.
• Provide timely consistent and highquality feedback to students.
• Exhibit the use of assessments during instruction.
• Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to student learning.
• Reflect on teaching and make adjustments for targeting greater understanding and student achievement.
• Maintain accurate and complete records as required by laws district policies and administrative regulations.
• Select store order issue and inventory classroom equipment materials and supplies.
• Effectively communicate with families to discuss childrens progress and needs.
• Exhibit participation and contributions to the professional community.
• Exhibit continued professional growth and development.
• Exhibit professionalism with students staff and parents.
• Report to the proper authorities any cases of suspected child endangerment neglect or abuse.
• Enforce all administration policies and rules governing students.
• Attend all professional meetings educational conferences and professional development sessions.
• Assist in the supervision of students (such as in school libraries hall and cafeteria monitoring and bus loading and unloading).
• Sponsor extracurricular activities such as clubs student organizations and academic contests.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or other administrators.

Coaching Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire Cheer Program.
• Develop and train studentathletes to cheer and uplift the crowd.
• Develop and execute an effective cheer program.
• Monitor motivate supervise and mentor studentathletes on and off the Court/Field.
• Instruct/guide studentathletes in fundamental skills strategies and physical training necessary to realize individual and team success.
• Instruct and guide studentathletes to lead them to the formulation and enhancement of moral values pride of accomplishments acceptable social behavior and selfconfidence.
• Foster teamwork sportsmanship and skills development.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of studentathletes.
• Cooperate in a timely manner with the School Athletic Director and the District Athletic Department in regard to requests for information that might be pertinent and/or periodically required.
• Meet all requirements set forth by the Benton Board of Education the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) and the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) relative to the mandated coaching requirements.
• Check the status of academic eligibility for all prospective studentathletes.
• Follow the District Athletic Department Policies and meet all criteria as outlined in the job description.
• Model the behavior expected of our studentathletes including timeliness to practices and games being positive and enthusiastic being respectful and practicing constructive criticism while upholding the disciplines of the program.
• Maintain a suitable sideline conduct including the use of appropriate language at all times.
• Accept and profit from constructive criticism and suggestions for improving coaching performance.
• Recognize the need to be aware of and implement all applicable administrative policies set forth by the District Board of Education Superintendents of Schools School Principals Conference Leagues DESE and AAA.
• Schedule practices on the first day permitted by AAA.
• Provide all applicable inseason training rules and any that may apply to outofseason conduct to studentathletes before the start of the season. Follow appropriate due process procedures when violations occur.
• Participate in Cheer Clinics and other available programs.
• Participate in School events (i.e. Awards Night Pep Assemblies Athletic Boosters Meetings etc..
• Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.

Requirements

Certifications & Licenses:

1. Must have a current Arkansas teaching license and certification for the grade level or subject area assigned to.

Other Requirements:

1. Successful completion of preemployment background checks.

2. Evidence of successful coaching experience.

Skills/Qualifications

• Fundraising experience.
• Must be passionate and dedicated to inspire studentathletes.
• Previous cheer coaching experience required.
• Ability to motivate and inspire studentathletes.
• Serve as a positive role model.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills associated with the sport.
