Job Description

The Duxbury Public Schools is seeking candidates for the position ofElementaryCurriculum Supervisor (PrK 5 for theschool year.

Position Overview

The Elementary Curriculum Supervisor assists the building administrators in assuring excellence in the development and implementation of the elementary curriculum. This position is supervised and evaluated by the Assistant Superintendent with feedback from the Building Principals. The Elementary Curriculum Supervisor is required to be certified (or be eligible for certification) as a supervisor/director or building administrator from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees curriculum implementation and continuity through classroom observations and consultations with staff.
  • Ensures curriculum alignment with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and the Districts Strategic Plan.
  • Coordinates data collection analysis and evaluation of curriculum and instruction including pilot and implementation phases.
  • Coordinates data meetings and progress monitoring meetings with buildingbased staff.
  • Analyzes assessment data for curriculum improvement and intervention focusing on local benchmarks schoolwide assessments and MCAS.
  • Assists with overseeing and organizing MCAS testing for grades 35 ensuring compliance and administration.
  • Supports kindergarten screening registration and incoming kindergarten events.
  • Communicates curriculum developments and events to parents and the community.
  • Functions as a member of the district leadership team.
  • Participates in various district and buildingbased administrative meetings.
  • Identifies faculty professional development needs and conducts training workshops for staff in curriculum instruction and assessment.
  • Serves as elementary instructional technology liaison.
  • Assists in the supervision and evaluation of teachers and other curriculum personnel.
  • Collaborates with principals to develop curriculumrelated budgets and oversees purchasing curriculum materials and supplies.
  • Assists with implementing the tiered intervention system including programming oversight and staff training.
  • Engages in personal professional development and regional curricular groups.
  • Completes additional tasks as assigned by the Principal Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent.

Curriculum Supervisors shall work a 210day schedule. Curriculum Supervisors will receive a salary regionally competitive and commensurate with experience. Contract duration will be negotiated with the Superintendent.
