Job Description
Are you customer obsessed Are you interested in working on products that are disrupting the data center software industry Does solving difficult technical challenges appeal to you Do you want to work hard have fun and make history The Data Center Automation team is responsible for building the systems that automate and orchestrate the physical work processes that occur inside all of AWS global data centers. We utilize advanced technology within our software development process including Ruby Python Java and React all designed to run on top of our own AWS services: EC2 S3 RDS EMR Redshift Kinesis Lambda and Amazon Machine Learning. Youll have the opportunity to work with the brightest and most creative engineers in the industry as we continue to grow the AWS business to meet the needs of our customers today tomorrow and beyond.
Key job responsibilities
This role requires creative engineering a strong customer focus and collaboration with your team and leadership.
Get deep into the technical details are proactive in removing roadblocks pave the way for innovation and can handle multiple competing priorities in a fastpaced environment. You have a thorough understanding of software processes (development configuration testing and deployment) and are able to identify risks early on. You are able to credibly coordinate between teams of technical resources and business stakeholders. You have excellent customer relationship skills and are an advocate for the customer. You are able to negotiate and gain buyin on technical decisions and ensure that appropriate software engineering practices are employed to deliver high quality results. You think big dive deep and deliver results.
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
2 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
1 years of serverside development experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
Experience in computer architecture
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
Industrial experience with AWS services e.g. Lambda Kinesis Dynamo DB SNS SQS S3 RDS

The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
