Our goal is to be the first choice for families seeking an educational experience where every student is challenged supported and inspired to own their journey to mastery and independence in a community where they are truly known and valued.Position Summary Bancroft School is seeking a fulltime Early Years Instructional Assistant to join our dynamic team of educators for the 202526 school year. Ideal candidates for this role are organized creative and effective communicators. This position will work closely with the PreKindergarten and Kindergarten team in the care and instruction of young students as well as cultivate positive relationships with families. They will differentiate the literacy and math curricula for students and implement all aspects of the daily program. The assistant teacher will also share responsibilities for recess lunch and the extended day program 2 pm 3:30 pm). Candidates should feel an alignment with Bancroft Schools mission and values and Learning Laboratory Method a projectbased approach to teaching and learning. Experience with 3 and 4 year old students and Bachelors degree in Education are preferred.Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher to implement an inquirybased curriculum that aligns with early childhood educational approaches and focuses on ageappropriate learning activities.
- Create a safe organized and engaging classroom environment that encourages active participation and cooperation among children.
- Assist the classroom teacher to deliver lessons and activities that promote the development of essential skills including language and literacy mathematics and social skills.
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians providing updates on their childs development and addressing concerns or questions.
- Implement positive behavior management techniques and encourage appropriate social interactions among children.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children by following health and safety guidelines including sanitation and emergency procedures.
- Work closely with the classroom teacher and other early childhood educators support staff and administrators to create a cohesive educational environment.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and research in early childhood education through ongoing training and professional development.
- Working hours are 7:303:30pm MondayFriday.
- Demonstrated experience in working with 45 year olds in a classroom setting. Multiple years of experience is preferred.
- An Associates degree in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills particularly in working with young children and their families.
