Job Description

Position Title: Teacher AssistantClassification: NonexemptPosition Type: Fulltime Salary: Teacher Assistant Salary ScheduleProbationary Period: 90 daysReports To: Program SupervisorSummary/Objective:The Teacher Assistant works under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher and together with other members of the educational team to implement student IEPs. Teacher Assistants work with the teacher to maintain a clean and efficient classroom environment that is conducive to Functions/Duties:Data of general deescalation behavior management and restraint classroom duties as directed by the classroom transfers and positioning of with activities of daily living and personal with routine classroom clerical and maintenance transportation and recess duties as assigned by the classroom of inclusive activities as directed by the classroom of classroom data management of academic and applied behavior analysis programs per student student issues and concerns to teachers and team in community experience vocational placements and field a commitment to professional : Knowledge Skills and Abilities:Must have a strong core knowledge and experience working with children who have severe disabilities. Experience in a special education classroom be able to provide a safe and motivating classroom environment that promotes and supports students academic social behavioral and daily living skills.
