Reports To: Field Supervisor
Status: FullTime Nonexempt based on applicable skills & experience
Position Summary:
The LowVoltage Technician plays a vital role in the success and growth of The Flying Locksmiths Memphis. This handson role focuses on installing and servicing access control and camera systems for commercial clients. Technicians must be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
- Install inspect and service access control and video surveillance systems both basic and complex.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs including system programming equipment testing cable running and component replacement.
- Interpret schematics and blueprints to complete installations accurately.
- Train customers on system functionality and suggest additional features based on their needs.
- Address and resolve customer concerns; recommend corrective services as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with sales staff and attend client site visits.
- Define and document scope changes including addons and change orders.
- Manage projects from initial walkthrough to final signoff and transition to service.
- Maintain accurate documentation of service calls installations and troubleshooting.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Minimum 2 years of handson experience in access control cameras or related skilled trades.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Experience reading schematics and blueprints.
- Mechanical aptitude with solid problemsolving skills.
- Alarm Technician or similar lowvoltage certification.
- Experience with access control systems such as:
- Openpath ProdataKey 2N Kaba Eplex Alarm Lock LTS Alocity Lockly CDVI
- Hardware: biometric readers keycards/fobs mobile credentials electric strikes mag locks power hinges electrified levers
- Door coring and related hardware installation
- Fluent in English (verbal and written)
- Able to lift push or pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to kneel crouch stoop and reach above/below shoulders
- Manual dexterity for handling tools and small components
- Comfortable working on ladders and at heights
- Tolerant of yearround outdoor working conditions
