Overview
LivePerson is growing fast and we want our technology to keep up. Weve formed a team thats focused on evolving our database and data storage systems and how theyre used by application teams so we can scale faster than ever before. Were seeking a Senior Database Engineer to help define how we accomplish this goal and to help us achieve it.
You will:
- Understand the design and architecture of new highlyavailable and faulttolerant cloudbased databases as well as how we redesign existing systems
- Participate and collaborate with the team taking ownership of the most intellectuallydemanding parts of solutions and deliver barraising solutions
- Investigate hardtopindown problems across a complex and distributed architecture so you can explain root causes and propose solutions
- Make a case for how we stay ahead of capacity issues and limit the blast radius of issues when a cluster is stressed
- Work with database clients to improve their use of databases (e.g. optimize queries evolve data models)
- Advocate for solutions that help teams launch quality software without compromising delivery speed
- Work on automation of database infrastructure and help engineering succeed by providing selfservice tools
- Participate in 24*7 oncall rotations to support production issues.
- Go above and beyond to solve complex problems in database engineering.
You have:
- 8 years of experience building successful production database systems handling terabytes of data.
- Experience configuring & Managing any two of the following database systems at scale: Cassandra Couchbase Redis or MongoDB.
- Highly accountable and responsible for projects successful .
- Experience managing database systems in a hybrid cloud (onprem & public cloud)
- Familiarity creating architectures that scale with volume and are faulttolerant
- Experience with distributed persistent systems & asynchronous messaging
- Experience tuning distributed systems to improve their performance under increasing volumes of traffic
- Proven ability to work in a fully remote environment with people across the globe
- Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g AWS Certification Google Cloud Platform Certification)
- Able to create documentation work on changes incidents and jira tickets.
- Experienced in automation framework using ansible terraform git pipelines.
- Able to learn and quickly adapt to new technologies.
