The London Independent Hospital in Stepney Green is part of Circle Health Group Britains leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.
We have an opportunity for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy Department.
This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern between Monday to Friday 9:00am and 17:00pm and additional Saturdays on rota.
Duties of this role include:
- Provide a high standard of technical support in the preparation dispensing and distribution of medicines across inpatient outpatient and theatre areas.
- Support wardbased services such as stock topups medicines reconciliation and discharge preparation.
- Assist pharmacists in ensuring safe and effective use of medicines in line with clinical protocols and policies.
- Oversee the daily work of pharmacy technicians assistants and trainees supporting task allocation and workflow management.
- Act as a role model and first point of contact for technical queries and daytoday problem solving.
- Support the induction training and competency development of junior team members.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Significant experience in a hospital or healthcare pharmacy setting.
- Strong knowledge of medicines management stock control and technical pharmacy services.
- Excellent communication organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff effectively.
