Job Description

Overview:


The Homecare Pharmacy Technician Supervisor will additionally assist the homecare manager to assure regulatory and compliance with applicable regulations policies procedures and expectations. This includes compliance assessments with USP <797> <800> DEA and FDA regulations CMS guidance and State Board of Pharmacy requirements. Valid Ohio drivers license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection insurance eligibility driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Childrens Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.


Job Description Summary:


The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor leads daily operations of the pharmacy technician team ensuring compliance with policies procedures and workflows. This role involves supervising technicians managing schedules and timekeeping conducting performance reviews and handling corrective actions. The supervisor also participates in recruitment onboarding and training while collaborating with managers/directors to refine departmental processes. Additionally the position involves ensuring regulatory compliance supporting projects and participating in committees or educational programs as needed.


Job Description:


Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of and compliance with policies procedures and processes within the pharmacy work area/department and participate in workflow on a regular basis and oncall responsibilities when assigned during off hours.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians by managing time and attendance and schedule conducting performance reviews and goal setting and completing all necessary corrective/disciplinary actions and followup for direct reports.
  • Lead technicianrelated operations with the pharmacy work area and work inconjunction with pharmacy manager/director to develop and maintain processes and workflows for the entire work area/department.
  • Act as hiring manager to recruit interview select and onboard pharmacy technicians which includes coordination of interviews orientation training and competencies and maintaining onboarding/training program.
  • Assist with tasks/projects to ensure compliance with policies procedures and all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Participate in committees and educational programs within the team department and/or organization as appropriate to meet team department and organizational needs.


Education Requirement:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or bachelors degree preferred.


Licensure Requirement:

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy required.


Certifications:

  • Certification by examination as a pharmacy technician (i.e. CPhT ExCPT) prior to start state required.


Skills:

  • Demonstrates ongoing competencies knowledge and skills of a pharmacy technician within their pharmacy work area.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills which align with Nationwide Childrens mission vision and values in a pharmacy work environment.


Experience:

  • Three 3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a pharmacy area related to the position preferred.
  • One 1 year of experience at Nationwide Childrens Hospital preferred.
