About the opportunity
A key area within the Student Services portfolio Student Administration is responsible for the operational Tier 2 support of student and staff enquires in relation to Student Fees Academic Scheduling Open Universities Australia (OUA) and Exams Results Progressions and Graduations.
The Class Allocation Technical Lead will lead an end to end pilot for the roll out of an innovative improvement project involving Technology Ones Class Allocation module which enables students to register into classes after receiving their timetable. The Class Allocation Technical Lead will support the Manager with the technical expertise project management change leadership and training for this pilot.
Youll lead a small team of professional staff with timetabling class allocation and student enquiries experience. Youll champion this important area of student administration and will be an important exemplar mentor and support person for change. Youll also work collaboratively with members of the Academic Scheduling Team Student Systems ITS Student Enquiries and Academic Units to ensure the provision of support is delivered in a student focused timely and professional manner.
What youll do:
- Lead and coordinate an end to end trial of Technology Ones class allocation module including planning implementation monitoring and control and evaluation/close.
- Develop a comprehensive project schedule incorporating timelines milestones goal setting and key deliverables.
- Develop a comprehensive set of testing schedules prototypes and scenarios and coordinate user acceptance testing.
- Provide technical support and expert assistance with the Class Allocation software process reporting requests prioritise and manage issues through to resolution in conjunction with the Student Systems and ITS teams.
- Build efficient workflows through establishing clear streamlined processes that promote productivity and maintain the projects momentum.
- Monitor progress by tracking against the project plan to ensure that tasks are completed on time and project milestones are achieved.
- Identify risks and shortfall and provide recommendations early to allow for corrective measures.
- Ensure open and effective communication and excellent stakeholder engagement in all phases of the trial ensuring that stakeholders are kept informed of project updates potential issues and key decisions.
What were looking for:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering complex administrative and technical functions whilst delivering continuous improvement and service excellence.
- Significant experience of application/technical support within a complex client/server environment including an analytical approach to problem solving Incident and Problem management experience and familiarity with escalation processes reporting and knowledge management.
- Proven project management skills an ability to analyse review make recommendations and convey complex information ideas and concepts clearly and efficiently to a variety of audiences.
- High level negotiation stakeholder engagement and problemsolving skills including the capacity to determine priorities and meet strict deadlines within a dynamic and highpressure environment.
- Experience in leading systems and process improvement initiatives and a highlevel capacity to develop a detailed knowledge of and practical experience in managing a variety of systems and software within a higher education environment.
- Ability to work independently or within a team to deliver positive outcomes as well as achieve identified goals and objectives and while ensuring compliance.
- Previous experience working with Technology One Student Management is preferrable.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $126637 comprising base salary within the range of $98473 to $108237 plus 17 superannuation.
