Job Description
Help us push the availability and reliability of cloud infrastructure to new heights! The AWS Data Center Systems team builds services to monitor and data center infrastructure controls monitoring and alerting systems. Our services directly contribute to the high availability of AWS data centers and Amazons sustainability goals. Teams in Data Center Systems solve problems of massive metric ingestion distributed systems/cloud computing data visualization anomaly detection analytics and graph networks.
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer who is passionate about leading the architecture and development of application software that helps keep Amazon data centers running efficiently and securely. On any given day we use Python Java Kotlin Lambda DynamoDB and CloudFormation as well as other public AWS services and a host of Amazoninternal tools.
AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words were the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers storage networking power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and were looking for talented people who want to help.
Youll join a diverse team of software hardware and network engineers supply chain specialists security experts operations managers and other vital roles. Youll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key job responsibilities
In this role youll be leading the design development testing and launch of new services for data acquisition configuration processing in the data center infrastructure space. You will work with senior members and junior members in the team to build new features. You will make sure enough test has been done to maintain the quality of the delivered software. You will join the oncall rotation to help solving customer issues in the production system and drive best practices that enable a quality product. Above all you will care deeply about the customer and delight in creating simple and elegant solutions that solve our customers biggest challenges.

This talented team is designing and developing new UIs to monitor and control power cooling security and more across data centers. 3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
