Lead Publicist Amazon Studios Movies PR

As a Lead Publicist you will work closely with the various Amazon Studios teams and will be responsible for devising and executing publicity campaigns initiatives talent and representative comms and events for Amazon Studios assigned movies as the primary publicist.

Additionally you will be responsible for other publicity activities related to collaborating on International press supporting Publicity Principals on movies and other divisions within Amazon.

Key job responsibilities
Media Relations and Oversight:
Work to devise and execute consumer publicity campaigns for assigned movies prelaunch at launch and beyond.
Pitch stories to all external media outlets including traditional print reporters and critics electronic media and mainstream online outlets as well as nontraditional media.
Understand media desires and exercise judgment in deciding which opportunities to pursue ensuring that Studio objectives are met.
Serve as key point person for assigned movies representing to external and internal constituencies and serving as publicity brand manager/onestop resource for all information related to the programs.

International and Amazon Liaison:
Provide support for departmentwide publicity requests from International Territories.
Planning and executing talent participation in Global Press Junket and publicity tours as well as liaising with field offices regarding international publicity priorities.

Talent Relationships:
Establish close working relationships and positive rapport with talent and personnel associated with all movies including filmmakers producers key production staff/crew and oncamera performers in order to achieve domestic and global publicity objectives.

Set Visits:
Determine best production (or nonproduction) days for reporter coverage. Cover all set visits to assigned shows by external media as noted above.

Events:
Work closely with publicity team to plan and execute assigned movie participation in major promotional and publicity events and special projects including but not limited to domestic and international press junkets ComicCon SXSW etc.
Work closely with the events team to ensure coordinated and strategic plans for covering special events (premiere parties stunts etc. for assigned movies.

Social Media:
Follow best practices strategy as a movies publicist for Twitter Facebook Instagram Tumblr and other social media and/or locationbased outlets.
Work closely with social media team to ensure coordinated outreach on these platforms to customers / fans.

Publicity Assets:
Demonstrate good judgment in selecting the most compelling video clips photos and other promotional/publicity materials that fulfill needs of media and best represent the film to viewers and other targeted audiences.

Publicity Trips:
Book and manage all aspect of performer and/or producer publicity trips (New York Los Angeles special events tours etc..

7 years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
Bachelors degree

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
