THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportations Engineering District 110 is seeking skilled professionals to take on the role of Transportation Construction Manager 1. In this position you will play a key role in the departments achievements by managing a range of construction and design projects making sure they meet all relevant standards and regulations in Engineering District 110.Your collaboration will be vital in maintaining high standards and achieving successful outcomes in various projects. Your expertise could make a significant difference in shaping the future of our infrastructure.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role you will manage moderately complex and multiple construction projects and supervise the inspection of phases of complex projects from assignment to completion in a professional timely cost effective and safe manner. As the inspectorincharge you will focus on highway construction projects which encompass roadway pavement reconstruction guiderail installation flood control measures and the rehabilitation and replacement of bridges.
Your role involves offering engineering support to address issues that require collaboration with municipalities private properties businesses emergency services railroads authorities utilities and other construction projects. You will analyze project data to assist the Assistant Construction Engineer (ACE) and Schedule Reviewer with contract scheduling and to tackle problems arising from delays related to these entities. Participation in constructability reviews and meetings will be necessary. Additionally you will compile and draft necessary documentation including work order justifications technical reports and correspondence related to construction matters. You will also prepare and submit work orders and construction estimates while ensuring that all materials used in the project are certified and meet specifications.

- Fulltime employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
- You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendoravailability.
- Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) parttime on an adhoc basis. In order to telework you must have a securely configured highspeed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bridgeville.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:- One year of experience as a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor(Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration): or
- Four years of experience in construction inspection including one year in a supervisory capacity; and graduation from high school or equivalent certification of formal training. Completion of a training program in construction inspection sanctioned by the using agency may be substituted for high school graduation. An Associate Degree in an engineering or closely related technology may be substituted for one year of the required nonsupervisory experience;or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which provides the required knowledges skills and abilities.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position requires a Class C noncommercial drivers license
