About the Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars are a professional football team and a member of the National Football Leagues AFC South Division. The Jaguars are one of the NFLs youngest franchises playing their first regular season home game on Sept. 3 1995 in Jacksonville Fla. and have since won four division titles. The Jaguars are owned by Shahid Khan a visionary leader whose businesses include FlexNGate Fulham Football Club All Elite Wrestling Bold Events and Iguana Investments. Since 2012 Mr. Khans impact on the Northeast Florida community has exceeded $500 million including charitable giving through the Jaguars Foundation capital improvements to EverBank Stadium and the creation of Dailys Place which hosts upwards of 40 concerts a year. The Jaguars and Iguana Investments opened the Miller Electric Center a stateoftheart sports performance center in 2023 which now houses all of football operations for the Jaguars including players coaches and other personnel. Summary
The Jacksonville Jaguars are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. This position will assist with daytoday accounting functions which include but are not limited to: accounts receivables cash posting journal entries transaction research monthend close fluctuation analysis and financial reporting. The ideal candidate must be reliable have a keen eye for detail exhibit a commitment to excellence and be comfortable taking initiative.
Job Responsibilities
- Record monthly journal entries as part of the monthend close process including revenue recognition relatedparty transactions and accruals
- Perform full cycle sponsorship or ticketing accounts receivable functions to include invoicing payment research and subledger to general ledger reconciliations
- Perform full cycle treasury functions to include credit card payments or wire requests check deposits and preparation of bank reconciliations
- Ensure that balance sheet accounts are accurately stated and reconciled to the general ledger. Research variances determine root causes and make adjusting entries when applicable
- Assist with yearend audit procedures including preparation of GAAP financial statements and NFL required reports
- Develop process automation to create efficiencies within the department and organizationally
- Assist with accounting related to Dailys Place Amphitheater and/or Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation
- Ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum 2 years of general ledger experience
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Ability to selfteach and learn new processes/technologies quickly
- Ability to multitask in a fastpaced changing environment. Must work well under time constraints
- Positive and professional demeanor excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively with a variety of team members in various departments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
- Collaborate internally and with other departments
- Desire to continue professional learning
- Must display strong ethical conduct
Preferred
- Masters degree in accounting finance or related field
- Excellent analytical problemsolving skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of automated accounting software: Microsoft Great Plains Archtics Salesforce or Adaptive (Workday)
