JOB DESCRIPTION
Scope
The Principal is to focus on pointing students to Christ daily through the positive advising and directing of the middle school faculty and staff covering grades 58. Using our mission statement to develop students with a heart for God who grow as Jesus did in wisdom stature and in favor with God and men the principal will encourage exhort and lead in a joyful manner. This shall be carried out within the parameters set by the Christian Academy Board of Directors and in a manner that creates a positive learning atmosphere for all students. The Principal is identified as the spiritual and academic leader of the school and therefore the success of all programs and departments hinges upon his/her leadership.
Qualifications
The candidate shall possess characteristics that reflect:
- A strong clear Christian testimony with a mature and godly spirit
- A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school
- Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith for the Christian Academy School System
- Agreement and belief that the Bible is the final authority concerning truth morality and the proper conduct of mankind
The ideal candidate shall possess:
- A Masters degree in School Administration and Leadership or similar credentials as well as State certification
- Eligibility for ACSI certification
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Be the spiritual and instructional leader of the school for faculty staff and families
- Provide long and shortterm goals for the middle school faculty and staff
- Interpret and manage educational data such as standardized test scores to improve the academic goals of students
- Work with academic support to help meet the needs of atrisk students
- Develop new programs that will enhance the curriculum and continue to update and monitor the curriculum for the school as well as approve all new textbook adoptions
- Take the leadership role in mentoring firstyear teachers
- Direct and oversee daytoday operations of the middle school hire supervise and manage the performance of allmiddleschool employees and manage teacher and staff evaluations with a focus on the Three Loves book love of God love of students and love of subject
- Plan all schedules necessary for the smooth operation of the school
- Conduct regular faculty and support personnel meetings
- Promote and conduct programs that provide for the professional development of the staff
- Attend necessary workshops and conferences to remain current on educational and spiritual issues
- Interview screen conduct tours and answer questions for prospective parents
- Establish and maintain a good working relationship with parents while promoting and conducting programs that will provide information to families
- Serve as the liaison between the school and parents as well as the PTO and the faculty
- Follow the policies and directives of the Christian Academy Board of Directors
- Cooperate and complete any assignments or projects given by the Superintendent Head of Schools and/or the Christian Academy Board of Directors

Reporting Relationship
The Principal shall be accountable to the Head of Schools of Christian Academy School System.
