Job Description
712 Math Certification RequiredArkansas Arts Academy is seeking a dynamic and passionate educator to teach PreCalculus Quantitative Reasoning and Algebra 2. This position will be responsible for setting the foundation for upper level math skills. All teachers at Arkansas Arts Academy are required to integrate art into the core curriculum. Teachers who are already familiar with Googles digital tools for learning will have an advantage. Teachers will work with department heads and their interdisciplinary teams to ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment within the district and participate in the PLC process to identify essential standards use data to determine student learning gaps and analyze formative assessments in order to make instructional :Teach individual students/groups in PreCal Quantitative Reasoning and Algebra 2 focusing on growth in critical thinking and math classroom to offer a positive and studentcentered learning environmentPlan lessons in relation to class and individual students goals and interestsEstablish goals and learning objectives for classesProvide individual and smallgroup instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying abilitiesEvaluate students performance and growth in knowledge and ability and prepare progress reportsMaintain discipline set class expectations with realistic rules of conduct Communicate with parents and school counselors on student progress; maintain assessment records for each student and prepares reports as required by schoolMaintain discipline set class expectations with realistic rules of conduct Instruct students to respect the classroom environment and properly care for all learning toolsMaintain professional competence through inservice education activities provided by the school and/or in selfselected professional growth activitiesPreparing students for state and national assessmentsMaintain regular and punctual attendanceFollow operational policies and proceduresHigh standards of professionalism and professional ethics; model integrity honesty and respect that promotes the culture values and mission of Arkansas Arts AcademyAbility to teach different skill levels and a variety learning stylesTeachers must possess a valid drivers license and reliable transportation to the schoolBackground checkStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to learn quickly and adapt to new environmentsAbility to connect with a wide range of students of different ages and backgroundsKnow how to make the learning process enjoyable and funResponsiveness to workrelated emails and phone callsMaintain a collaborative work environment with a team of colleaguesAttend departmental meetings and professional development opportunitiesA positive fun and enthusiastic personality with a passion for teaching!Working Conditions:Teachers will be working in fully air conditioned and ADA compliant building spaces. The position does require moving to duty locations and within the classroom to monitor student behavior and independent Collaborators: AAA Math Department Direct Reports: Building Principal Minimum Experience Requirements: Experience working with teenagers in a structured Experience Requirements: 13 years of teaching experience at the secondary level and AP certification is valuable. Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelors degree and certification in 712 mathematics. Required Skills: Lesson Planning Clear Communication Collaboration with Team Differentiating Instruction Interpreting and Applying IEP and 504 accommodations Grading Work.
