- Education in Interior Design Architecture Planning Project Management Business or related field
- Progressively responsible team and program or project management experience
Assets:
- Coursework or training in project management; work space planning financial management; or other leadership training
Skills required for success:
- Planning and Project Management: Comprehensive understanding of planning and design processes strong project management skills including PMBOK best practices and proven organizational and problemsolving abilities
- Leadership and Team Management: Experience leading project managers and multidisciplinary teams
- Contract and Vendor Management: Strong contract management skills including selection claims and performance evaluation as well as experience managing external consultants
- Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Experience developing and implementing communication and engagement plans strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build strategic relationships
- Conflict Resolution and Negotiation: Strong skills in resolving conflicts and negotiating complex issues
- Knowledge of Regulations and Procedures: Working knowledge of relevant codes legislation regulations policies and procedures

Conditions of employment and work environment:
- Up to: 1 permanent fulltime position
- Hours of work: 36.9 hours per week Monday Friday
- Salary Range: $102590 $128237 (Annually)
- This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite
- This position is eligible for the EDO program (Earned Day Off)
- Hire is dependent on a Criminal Records Check (CRC) security clearance that is satisfactory to the City of Edmonton and is a requirement of this position there may be a cost associated with this requirement
- Valid Alberta Class 5 drivers licence (or provincial equivalent) is an asset. Must obtain business auto insurance for personal use on City business Management and OutofScope positions at the City of Edmonton are being reviewed for possible inclusion in the Civic Service Union 52 bargaining unit. This Program Manager position is focused on work space planning creating spaces that support productivity foster creativity and collaboration and enhance employee well being. You will provide leadership guidance and oversight to a team of project managers and coordinators as well as manage the development of your own projects. A Program Manager in this portfolio can expect to work with City of Edmonton internal Business Partners from all departments.
What will you do
- Develop strategies to ensure the efficient optimization of City work spaces
- Manage a team of Project Managers and Project Coordinators to deliver a series of projects on time on budget and within scope
- Act as Project Manager on specific complex projects
- Monitor and manage overall risk to the program/projects as well as to the City and its reputation
- Ensure the use of project management systems and best practices to deliver projects efficiently and effectively by using the Citys Project Management Reference Guide along with the Citys Project Management Information System
- Lead all aspects of workspace planning including needs assessments design and furniture selection while applying systems thinking to manage multiple projects and maintain strategic relationships
- Mentor coach and empower staff ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources. Hold teams accountable manage performance and foster a collaborative culture aligned with organizational values
- Oversee furniture requests and vendor contract management for space reconfigurations repairs and replacements
- Develop and implement communication and engagement plans for diverse audiences including senior leadership and city council and facilitate mediation of complex issues with stakeholders
- Foster a holistic approach to workspace planning through the development of relevant policies and processes
