Primary Purpose

Under direct supervision perform data entry including accounting personnel budget demographics or Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data; attendance; or grades into computer databases.

Qualifications

Education/Certification

  • High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets databases and do word processing
  • Proficient typing keyboarding file maintenance and 10key skills
  • Ability to meet established deadlines
  • Demonstrate proficiency in handling matters of highly confidential nature
  • Ability to handle working conditions in a fast paced working environment
  • Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with staff and other district personnel
  • Must possess personal qualities related to respect for the rights and confidentiality of others

Experience

  • Two years data entry experience

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Records and Reports

  • Enters alphabetic numeric or symbolic data from source document using online computer terminal or personal computer.
  • Keys and verifies results according to procedures provided.
  • Recognizes and corrects errors in original data prior to processing.
  • Recognizes deficiencies in source documents and returns them to originator for correction.
  • Prints reports using database information including attendance reports class or personnel rosters endofsemester reports or accounting reports.

  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or other administrator that are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications for the position
