Position Summary
The Facilities Custodian Professional is responsible for maintaining a clean orderly and safe environment across buildings and surrounding areas. This role involves performing a wide range of custodial and light maintenance tasks ensuring facilities are properly maintained and hazards are reported in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a handson attitude attention to detail and the physical capability to perform laborintensive duties.
Key Responsibilities
Sweep mop scrub and wax floors to ensure cleanliness and safety
Empty and sanitize trash receptacles; collect and sort recycling materials
Clean sanitize and restock bathrooms and other common areas
Clean and service custodial equipment as required
Perform minor repairs on furniture buildings and general equipment
Lock and unlock windows doors and gates as needed
Report any safety sanitary or fire hazards to the appropriate department
Ensure grounds and surrounding areas are clean and wellmaintained
Use a forklift to load and unload materials for the Vehicle Maintenance Center
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Prior custodial and groundskeeping experience preferred
Experience operating a forklift preferred
Required Skills & Physical Requirements
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Capable of standing walking squatting bending twisting and kneeling for extended periods
Ability to work in varied temperatures and conditions
Comfortable climbing ladders and working from heights
Familiarity with custodial tools equipment and materials
Able to safely operate care for and store custodial equipment
