Students at SES have been identified with disabilities such as emotional impairments health impairments and/or intellectual impairments. These students were not able to make effective academic progress in their neighborhood schools and now receive specialized supports in the districts therapeutic day school. In this setting counselors are part of a clinical team that provide a range of services from crisis/case management staff training consultation family engagement and/or direct service provision via structured psychoeducational groups. Collaboration for with other multidisciplinary team members is highly valued and counselors have the opportunity to participate in leadership opportunities via committees and/or the leadership team.
