For inpatient areas the Senior Pharmacy Technician may be trained in intravenous and/or hazardous drug compounding is regularly staffed as an IV admixture or chemotherapy admixture pharmacy technician or in advanced operational areas (e.g. controlled substance distribution ADC replenishment) and also regularly assists Pharmacy Leadership with quality assurance projects controlled substance monitoring and auditing and regulatory compliance monitoring and auditing. Serves as a designated trainer for new pharmacy technicians.
For retail areas the Senior Pharmacy Technician provides expertlevel support to pharmacists performing specialized tasks that require advanced certification. In addition to QA auditing and training oversight the Senior Pharmacy Technician manages higherlevel responsibilities including advanced technical procedures and ensuring workflow efficiency within the pharmacy.
Qualifications
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE TRAINING
1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required.
3. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential required (this requirement may be waived for current pharmacy students enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy).
4. At least 4 years of pharmacy technician experience in the current practice area (inpatient or retail) preferred.
5. Additional certifications in relevant areas of practice through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred (i.e. CSPT Nonsterile Compounding Supply Chain Immunizations and Inventory Management etc.
6. Graduate of ASHPaccredited or equivalent pharmacy technician training program preferred.
7. 340B program experience preferred (if at a 340B facility)

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role which includes estimated wages benefits and other forms of compensation is $19.48 to $29.22. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire in which a wide range of factors will be considered including but not limited to skillset years of applicable experience education credentials and licensure.
