POSITION TITLE: ; Environmental Science Faculty (fulltime salaried exempt)
PRIMARY WORK LOCATION: Macy Campus or South Sioux City Campus
STARTING SALARY: $59000 $67000
CLOSING DATE: Until filled

ABOUT THE COLLEGE:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree in Environmental Science or related field. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Excellent oral and written communication skills. College teaching experience is preferred as well as a familiarity with the use of technology (online learning management systems video conferencing etc.. The candidate must be able to show evidence of effective leadership and a background of proven success in working with students administrators faculty and communities. Qualified applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS COMPETENCIES and ABILITIES:
Preferred candidates will have proven success in the following:
  • Doctorate degree in Environmental Science or related field.
  • Minimum of two 2 years instructional experience preferably in a tribal or community college setting Experience instructing students from minoritized backgrounds using technology in the classroom and/or for distance learning and traditional/nontraditional methods of instruction.
  • Candidate should have a high degree of selfdirection and motivation strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fulltime faculty have a 12month contract with a minimum of forty hours per week. This includes activities in three general areas: teaching 50 research 30 and service 20. Courses may include: Introduction to Environmental Health Technical Writing Environmental Resource Management Advanced Environmental Health AllHazard Emergency Preparedness Ethnobotany Water is Life and Aquatic Ecosystems Environmental Health Management & Planning Recreational Environmental Health Solid & Hazardous Material and Waste Management Senior Capstone and/or Senior Research Project. Teaching schedule may include assignments online on other campuses (see below for locations) day and evening classes. This position will augment our capacity for the new B.S. degree in Indigenous Environmental Health that we plan to launch in Fall 2025! ;
