Transform Healthcare Security Through Data Innovation
Amazon Securitys Healthcare Security organization is currently hiring for a Data Engineer II to architect and implement data solutions that power secure healthcare services. As part of the Healthcare Security Team youll drive data engineering initiatives that enable Amazons expansion while ensuring adherence to global security and compliance standards.
Impact Youll Drive: As a Data Engineer you will design and implement enterprise data architectures that support Amazons healthcare compliance and security initiatives. You will build cloudbased data solutions and architect data pipelines that transform healthcare and compliance datasets into actionable insights while building automated solutions for security reporting and compliance monitoring. You will lead technical discussions and mentor team members in data engineering practices.
Key job responsibilities
Design and implement enterprise data architectures supporting healthcare compliance and security
Build and maintain cloudbased data pipelines and ETL processes
Develop automated solutions for security reporting and compliance monitoring
Create scalable data models and infrastructure as code
Partner with Data Scientists and Business Intelligence Engineers on datadriven solutions
Lead technical discussions and mentor team members
Drive best practices for data engineering testing and documentation
Contribute to technical strategy and architectural decisions
Ensure data security and compliance standards are met
Optimize data delivery and system performance
A day in the life
As a Data Engineer in Amazon Healthcare Security youll start your day collaborating with crossfunctional teams to understand security requirements and translate them into technical solutions. You might begin with a morning standup where you align with Data Scientists and Business Intelligence Engineers on ongoing projects then dive into designing new data pipelines using infrastructure as code.
Throughout your day youll leverage your expertise in SQL and distributed systems to build scalable solutions that enhance our healthcare security infrastructure. You could be finetuning a data model in the morning participating in architecture review sessions at midday and mentoring team members on best practices in the afternoon. Youll regularly engage with Product Managers to ensure our data solutions align with business objectives while maintaining strict security and compliance standards.
Working in our fastpaced environment youll balance immediate project needs with longterm strategic initiatives.
Whether youre optimizing existing pipelines documenting processes or contributing to technical strategy discussions youll have the autonomy to innovate and the resources to make meaningful impact on healthcare security at Amazon.

3 years of data engineering experience
Experience with data modeling warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Experience as a data engineer or related specialty (e.g. software engineer business intelligence engineer data scientist) with a track record of manipulating processing and extracting value from large datasets
Experience with SQL
Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift S3 AWS Glue EMR Kinesis FireHose Lambda and IAM roles and permissions
Experience with nonrelational databases / data stores (object storage document or keyvalue stores graph databases columnfamily databases)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
