Title: Extra Help First Star Academy Overnight Staff

The First Star ISU Academy is a collegepreparatory program for high school foster youth with the aim of preparing for successful matriculation into 2 or 4 year colleges and universities. The youth spend twoweeks living on the university campus (Summer Immersion Program) and they return one Saturday per month during the school year (Saturday Academies). Overnight Staff are responsible for supervision of the Scholars between 11:30PM and 6:30AM during the 2week Summer Immersion Program from Sunday June 1 2025 through Friday June 13 2025.

$16.20 per hour
1. Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate education
2. Ability to work as a team member with Academy staff other College Coaches and campus staff
Previous work experience with youth preferred
11:30PM and 6:30AM. Up to 28 hours per week maximum.
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods
2. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete daytoday work.
3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement with Illinois State University. However Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the Universitys supplemental retirement savings plans 403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment. In addition extra help employees may only work up to 900 hours total during their employment.
