Be our next Community Outreach Project Manager in the Miami Florida area.
We are seeking a Community Outreach Manager to join our team in the South Florida area. The ideal candidate is local to the SW Florida International Airport area an outgoing person experienced in communications and/or marketing with a customerservice focus. Someone who will thrive in a fastpaced and dynamic organization.
The candidate is responsible for managing and facilitating community outreach efforts for infrastructure projects. The position includes stakeholder engagement government relations community relations public speaking content writing documentation and presentations. It also includes business development activities including marketing proposal preparation and presentations. The ideal candidate has experience or a strong desire to work on and learn about infrastructure projects and will thrive in a fastpaced and dynamic organization.
Your work environment at EXP
- Develop key messages and public relations outreach efforts for infrastructure projects and initiatives.
- Responsible for planning organizing and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed successfully on time and within budget.
- Develop and facilitate community engagement plans.
- Build positive relationships with stakeholders affected by or interested in projects.
- Leverage existing relationships to help achieve our organization and clients missions.
- Create written content and collaborate with creative graphics and/or video team to develop project educational materials.
- Research and facilitate business development activities including marketing proposal preparation and presentations.
- Develop strategic alliances and partnerships.
- Adhere to government communications protocols and other requirements.
- Design and maintain a favorable public image for the organization and customer.
- Coordinate and facilitate public meeting/hearing logistics.
- Responsible for leading communications on multiple municipal infrastructure improvement projects serving projects throughout the Sarasota region and surrounding counties.
- Responsible for collaborating closely with teams and on individual projects often multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to government communications protocols and other requirements.
What your experience looks like
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of public involvement public relations media or community outreach experience preferably in infrastructure working for or serving a state or local government agency.
- Bachelors degree in communications public relations journalism marketing planning or a related field from an accredited program.
- Strong experience with project management reporting processes and program budgeting.
- Knowledge of road/bridge transportation and/or various infrastructure projects preferred.
- Talent for understanding simplifying and effectively communicating complex information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to perform responsibilities with a significant degree of independence initiative creativity and expert judgment in an office setting.
- Able to work in a constantly evolving confidential environment.
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Strong problemsolving and critical thinking skills.
- Proficient in Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel to project locations.
- Bilingual (Eng/Spa) is a plus but not necessary.
