Job Description
Summary & Objective
The Painter will be responsible for preparing surfaces mixing paints and applying finishes to various interior and exterior surfaces in a variety of settings. The ideal candidate has experience with painting techniques understands safety standards and takes pride in delivering highquality results.
Essential Functions
- Check staffing levels daily and corrects any deficiencies
- Prepare surfaces by sing sanding filling holes and washing walls or other surfaces.
- Apply paints varnishes stains enamels and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
- Mix and match paint colors to ensure a consistent and accurate finish.
- Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths or masking tape to prevent damage or mess.
- Operate tools and equipment such as brushes rollers sprayers and scaffolding safely and efficiently.
- Follow safety guidelines and proper ventilation procedures while working with hazardous materials.
- Inspect completed work to ensure highquality standards and touch up as necessary.
- Maintain tools equipment and a clean work area.
- Perform minor drywall or surface repairs when needed before painting.
- Collaborate with supervisors and other tradespeople as required.

Other Duties
- Works in any position within the Environmental Services Department as needed
- Conducts inservices/education as needed or requested
- Provide orientation on a regular basis to new employees.
- Create work assignments for special projects
- Participates in staff inservice training
- Promotes positive employee engagement teamwork mutual respect and safety work practices.
- Maintain required mandatory skill updates.
Supervisory Responsibility
- May serve as an interim department leader depending on need.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 250 pounds walk climb stair or ladders stand on feet for extended periods of time etc.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee will frequently work in outside weather condition and is frequently exposed to fumes and airborne particles.
- Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts

Knowledge & Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a painter or similar role.
- Familiarity with painting materials tools and techniques.
- Ability to work independently and with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of color theory and surface preparation.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy equipment and stand for long periods.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in painting or a related trade.
- Experience with both residential and commercial painting projects.
- Basic knowledge of drywall patching and light carpentry.
