The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.
This is a fixedterm full time opportunity until May 2026 based in Melbourne working a hybrid 2 office days) arrangement.
About the Role
The nursing and midwifery team is situated within the Ahpra National Strategy and Policy Directorate. The team works with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) to deliver the regulatory plan and to develop registration standards codes and guidelines related to the regulation of registered nurses enrolled nurses and midwives.
In this role you will:
In this role you will provide vital policy and project administration support to the Nursing and Midwifery policy team helping to coordinate project meetings working groups and Regulatory Advisory groups. Your responsibilities will include scheduling meetings managing meeting packs keeping accurate meeting records and tracking actions to ensure smooth followup. You will prepare agendas attend meetings and distribute decisions and outcomes promptly to relevant stakeholders.
A key focus of the role is to provide administrative support to ensure NMBA policy and projects are delivered on time and under budget. Developing strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders you will support a policy and project portfolio including project reporting contract management and budget oversight.

With expertise in policy and project administration you will bring a comprehensive skill set to efficiently handle complex tasks in dynamic environments. Your advanced MS Office applications database software meeting management tools and internetbased platforms underpin your ways of working. Your exceptional organisational abilities allow you to effectively manage multiple responsibilities prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines with confidence.
You will have excellent attention to detail ensuring the quality consistency accuracy and timeliness of all work outcomes. With writing skills that are finely honed encompassing the preparation of agendas accurate minutetaking and professional correspondence that conveys information clearly and concisely.
A strong communicator and team player you excel at building and maintaining productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Your collaborative approach coupled with experience supporting team members allows you to thrive in complex environments and contribute meaningfully to shared goals.
