Responsibilities
Cloud Software Engineer
Peraton is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to ake on a pivotal role with our elite Cyber Intelligence team in Laurel MD. This isnt your average dev jobhere your work directly supports national security and cuttingedge innovation. Youll be part of an integrated product team tackling highimpact challenges and engineering largescale systems that matter.
What Youll Do:
As a key member of our agile team youll help design develop and scale a powerful fullfeatured cloud service running on large compute clusters and AWS infrastructure. Your daytoday will include:
Architecting and building missioncritical cloud software solutions
Integrating Large Language Models (LLM) and RetrievalAugmented Generation (RAG)
Tuning and optimizing for performance at scale
Automating deployment and monitoring with cuttingedge DevOps practices
Supporting the entire software lifecyclefrom whiteboard to deployment (and beyond)
Collaborating across disciplines to solve complex realworld problems
What You Bring:
Youre not just a developeryoure a cloudsavvy problem solver who thrives in fastpaced highstakes environments. Ideally youve got:
LLM & RAG experienceyoure excited about the potential of GenAI
Deep AWS expertise including SDKs APIs and architectural best practices
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
DevOps mindset: Continuous Integration Deployment Testing and Monitoring
Strong Java skills for distributed systems with a handle on networking and concurrency
Experience working in Agile environments with modern source control workflows
Comfort in Linux environments and scripting in Python Ruby or Perl
Familiarity with Kubernetes and microservices architecture
A sharp eye for security and compliance
AWS Cloud Developer Certification is a big plus

Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is required or alternatively an additional 4 years of relevant experience.
A Masters degree can substitute for 2 years of experience reducing the total experience requirement to 6 years.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in software development/engineering including activities such as requirements analysis software development installation integration evaluation enhancement maintenance testing and troubleshooting.
At least 6 years of experience developing software using highlevel programming languages such as Java C or C.
A minimum of 5 years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux (Redhat versions 35 operating systems.
At least 3 years of experience in software integration and testing including the creation and of test plans and test scripts.
- One of the following certifiations are required:
- AWS Certified DeveloperAssociate
- AWS DevOps Engineer Professsional
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- Elastic Certified Engineer
