Position: Speech Language Pathology Assistant
Term: Fulltime 9 Months
Classification: Classified Nonexempt
Location: Districtwide
Qualifications: Meet the requirements set forth by the Missouri Board of Healing Arts Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) guidelines; Bachelors degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders; Continued ongoing education is expected to maintain updated knowledge and skills

Reports to: Director of Student Services Building Administration
The job of the Speech/Language Pathology Assistant is to plan and provide direct therapy to students with speech voice or language disorders. The individual in this position assesses students and provides therapeutic intervention to eliminate or reduce problems or impairments that interfere with the students ability to derive full benefit from educational program.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to walk talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand or sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and depth perception. The employee must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Conditions and Environment
The individual who holds this position will regularly work in a school environment that is noisy and active. Occasionally the individual will be required to work outdoors for short periods of time to perform such tasks as loading and unloading students from district transportation and supervising recess.
