The Worcester Public Schools is seeking experienced elementary teachers who have a particular strength in teaching 21st century computer and digital skills to provide enrichment across the core content areas. The preferred candidate will have strong knowledge of elementary education content areas and child development at the elementary level. This is an itinerant position and the successful candidates will travel among multiple schools. As a teacher in the Worcester Public Schools you will be expected to provide rigorous instruction to the diverse population of students in your classroom. You will be expected to align your teaching to the district and state curriculum; to regularly assess students for learning comprehension and to modify your teaching to ensure that students are learning; to provide a classroom that is conducive to the learning needs of all students especially students who are learning English and students with disabilities. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: for remaining up to date regarding curriculum for effective planning and assessment of curriculum and for mentoring students understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusting instruction materials or assessments when for effective management of classroom for effective instruction which includes making learning goals clear to the students using appropriate instructional and questioning for using innovative approaches and instructional strategies including the effective use of technologies to increase student learning and confidence to for the promotion of high standards and expectations for student for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning including for implementing specific strategies for students with special needs with 504 plans andor second language for assuring equal educational opportunity to all individuals regardless of race color gender age religion national origin gender identity marital status sexual orientation disability or of other jobrelated duties as QUALIFICATIONS:1. Massachusetts DESE certification in Elementary 16 or MA DESE certification in Digital Literacy/Computer Science2. SEI Endorsement 3. BA degree4. Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs3. Ability to speak Spanish Portuguese Arabic Vietnamese Albanian or an African language. 4.
